We Are Honored to Establish the E.C. Smith Legacy Gifts Society

E.C. Smith

When Berkeley’s founding families established a school that set a new standard in academic excellence, they had a vision to sustain it for generations to come. For nearly 60 years, planned gifts to Berkeley have helped maintain that legacy of excellence.

E.C. Smith is a founding faculty member and a former administrator and coach, who served Berkeley for more than 50 years. He understands the importance of inspiring others to support Berkeley through a planned gift and is honored to have his name tied to such an important endeavor.

The new E.C. Smith Legacy Gifts Society at Berkeley honors and recognizes our alumni, families, and friends who have provided for a legacy gift to the school in their estate planning. Gifts of this nature take the form of trusts, life insurance, gift annuities, or a provision in a will. They are commonly known as planned or deferred gifts, as the school will receive the gift in the future. These gifts speak to how highly our Smith Society members value Berkeley by ensuring the school’s fiscal security for generations to come. Donors making a commitment of this sort are amongst our most vested supporters because of their desire to leave their legacy at Berkeley as part of their life story.

Please let us know if you have included Berkeley in your estate plans, so that we can honor and recognize your commitment to our school.
